‘My Mother’s Tin Pitcher’ Kathy Leeds
vibrant and descriptive colours, a product of expressive views of an everyday scene. Ochre yellow, burnt orange and vivid turquoise, Kathy's use of descriptive colours have produced an expressive still life filled with simple objects.
Kathy Leeds is a second-generation native to Los Angeles. Leeds was an interior and architectural designer, she started painting full time about 20 years ago.
Leeds moved from an off-site studio to a home studio a few years ago where she loves to create at the comfort of her home.
'I reach into the silence within me, to recapture the memory.. and frame the illusions of the outer world. I seek moments of equipoise, that often seem suspended in time. Everything resolves into colour and form, both deepening and elucidating the mystery.'
